We are based in Cromer on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and work across the Sydney region, including the Northern Beaches, Lower and Upper North Shore, the City and Eastern Suburbs, and the Inner West.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. MJ Trade Solutions is fully licensed and insured, and offers industry-leading warranties on its workmanship.
Do you provide free quotes?

What are your business hours?
Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. We are closed on Sundays.

Yes. We paint, repair and clean offices, retail premises and strata buildings, and schedule work to minimise disruption.
Painting
How long does an interior repaint take?
A single room is often completed in one to two days. A full house interior typically takes one to two weeks, depending on size, the amount of preparation and drying times between coats. We confirm a timeframe in your quote.
How often should a house exterior be repainted in Sydney?
Many exteriors need repainting every 7–10 years, but coastal homes exposed to salt air and strong sun may need attention sooner. Peeling, chalking or faded paint are signs it’s time.
Do I need to move furniture before you paint?
It helps to clear small items and valuables. We move and cover larger furniture, protect floors and clean up at the end of each day.
Plastering
Can you fix cracks in my ceiling?
Yes. We assess the cause, repair or re-sheet the area, tape and set the joint, and finish it ready for paint. Recurring cracks can indicate movement, which we’ll point out if we see it.
Do you repair water-damaged plaster?
Yes — once the leak has been fixed. We replace affected plasterboard, finish it smooth and seal stains before painting.
Rendering
Is acrylic or cement render better?
Both have a place. Acrylic renders contain polymers that add flexibility and help reduce cracking, while traditional cement render suits many masonry substrates. We recommend the right system after inspecting your walls.
Can you render over painted brick?
Sometimes, but painted surfaces need assessment and preparation so the render bonds properly. We’ll check adhesion on site before recommending a method.
Carpentry
Can you replace rotten timber before painting?
Yes. We cut out and replace rotten timber on sills, fascias, weatherboards and decks, then prime it so painting can follow straight away.
Do you hang doors?
Yes — internal and external doors, including fitting hinges, handles and locks.
Cleaning
How often should an office be cleaned?
It depends on staff numbers and foot traffic. Many offices choose two to five cleans a week, with high-touch areas like kitchens and bathrooms cleaned most often. We’ll recommend a schedule when we quote.
Do you clean after renovations?
Yes. We provide post-construction cleans that remove dust and residue from surfaces, floors, windows and fittings.
Handyman Services
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Small jobs are welcome — and grouping a few together into one visit is usually the most cost-effective approach.
Do you work for property managers?
Yes. We carry out maintenance and repairs for rental properties and can send photos once work is complete.
